DOLE, France, July 9 (Reuters) – Geoffrey Bouchard turned the primary Tour de France rider to drag out of the race with COVID-19, his AG2R-Citroen workforce stated on Saturday.
“In the course of the (seventh) stage (on Friday) I didn’t really feel properly. It is an enormous disappointment as a result of we have been juts attending to my favorite terrain, the mountains,” Bouchard stated in a workforce assertion.
Bouchard, 30, gained the mountains classification on the 2019 Tour if Spain and in final yr’s Giro d’Italia.
AG2R-Citroen stated that the remainder of the squad, from which Bouchard was remoted, was unfavourable for COVID-19.
