This historic resort and gallery, hidden in a sikka (maze of alleyways), is a convincing nationwide treasure, being greater than a 100 years previous in a rustic that’s lower than 50. Up to date artwork permeates each a part of it, not simply the on-site gallery. The gnarled previous timber within the inner courtyards are adorned with dried roses and baubles, armchairs are upholstered in film scene prints and ceilings are obscured by curious material installations. These jarring, avant-garde shows pop towards the historic setting. Resort founder Mona Hauser and a handful of visitor designers, together with native trend star Zayan Ghandour, have conjured up 15 individually themed rooms centred on the moon, henna tattoos, gadgets of Arabian clothes, and extra.
