One British couple element their dismal 11-day sentence at a Vacation Inn after getting back from red-listed South Africa.
Annabel Fenwick Elliott spoke to them about their ordeal:
“We aren’t company, we’re inmates,” Mr Jones tells Telegraph Journey. “It’s not a lodge, it’s a guarded compound – and there’s no minibar. It will be totally unacceptable lodging for anybody, except you occurred to be on a really tight finances, or lived on the streets.” And all at a value £3,715 for his or her keep.
The couple’s daughter has, not less than, delivered a number of emergency circumstances of Sauvignon blanc, which they chill towards the window in lieu of a fridge, and a few silverware, to switch the provided plastic knives and forks “that snap off within the congealed meals”.
